Summary: Raised in a strict family environment in Prague, alienated, bullied, timid-by-nature, friendless, troubled child Olga Hepnarová nurtures a raging hatred towards an indifferent, faceless society. Under those circumstances she soon finds herself trapped in the middle of a war she cannot win, utterly defeated by the same element she's been trying to avoid: its people.
