Mike Brouwer has struggled all his life. He fought for his family, for his teammates, to protect himself without ever letting his guard down. He fought to get a place in the National Hockey League and the only way to keep it is to use his fists, for the amusement of the fans and to protect his team.

Liam Fitzgerald is a rookie twelve years younger than Mike and more talent in his little finger than Mike has in both fists. He's the smallest player on the ice, but he never lets that stop him from getting what he wants. And apparently, what he wants is Mike and that's a battle Mike finds himself losing.

Mike knew it would be a mistake to let that rookie into her bed, but little did he know that mistake would follow him for the rest of his life.
